Supporting West African Women in the UK
Migrating to a new country is never easy. For many West African women arriving in the United Kingdom as asylum seekers, the challenges can feel overwhelming. From navigating a new culture to finding safe shelter, access to healthcare, and employment opportunities, the journey can be full of obstacles. On August 2nd, 2025, Crisscross Foundation officially launched in Leicester, UK, with a mission to stand with these women. Our program focuses on helping West African female immigrants—especially asylum seekers and the homeless—find the support they need to start afresh. We provide safe spaces for dialogue, connect women to essential services, and offer skills training to improve employability. Most importantly, we build a sense of community where women feel they belong. We believe that every woman, regardless of her immigration status, deserves dignity, respect, and the opportunity to thrive. By supporting these women, we are not only helping them rebuild their lives but also contributing to stronger, more inclusive communities in the UK. Crisscross Foundation is here to walk with them—because every woman deserves a fair chance at a brighter future.
Standing with the Vulnerable
At the heart of Crisscross Foundation is a simple belief: no one should be left behind. Across the world, vulnerable communities continue to face hunger, poverty, and social exclusion. These include widows, orphans, internally displaced persons, and families struggling to survive on very little. In Pakistan, Crisscross Foundation is reaching out to some of the most vulnerable groups with compassion and hope. Our work includes providing food assistance, clothing, and basic education for children who are often left out of the system. Beyond immediate relief, we also invest in skill training programs that empower families to build sustainable livelihoods. What makes our approach unique is that we listen first. We spend time with communities to understand their challenges before tailoring solutions that meet their real needs. Whether it is distributing school materials, supporting a widow, or providing small grants for women entrepreneurs, we believe in practical action that restores dignity. Together with our partners, volunteers, and supporters, we are weaving a story of hope. One family at a time. One community at a time.
Empowering the Girl Child Through Education
Education is more than just learning how to read and write—it is the key that unlocks opportunities, breaks cycles of poverty, and creates leaders for tomorrow. At Crisscross Foundation, we believe that every girl child deserves the right to quality education, no matter where she comes from. Sadly, in many parts of Africa and Asia, girls still face barriers such as early marriages, cultural stereotypes, financial hardship, and limited access to safe schools. This means millions of young girls are denied the chance to achieve their full potential. Through our programs in Nigeria and Kenya, Crisscross Foundation is bridging this gap. We work closely with local communities to provide school supplies, mentorship, and scholarships for young girls. We also engage with parents, teachers, and community leaders to raise awareness of the importance of girl-child education. When a girl is educated, she not only builds a brighter future for herself but also uplifts her family, her community, and future generations. Educating girls is one of the most powerful ways to transform societies. At Crisscross Foundation, we are committed to this vision—because we know that when you educate a girl, you empower a nation.
